Illinois House and Senate Candidate Recruitment

Want to help fix Illinois while serving your community? There's no better way than running for elected office.

But for too many Illinoisans, that process can be intimidating. And that means too many voters don't even have a choice on the ballot. Over the past decade, there have been hundreds of instances where the only choice presented on a ballot was for a single candidate, often an incumbent. This has been especially true in Chicago and Cook County.

That's why Run Illinois is undertaking a historic effort to increase competition in elections across Illinois. In our inaugural year, Run Illinois helped 32 highly qualified and engaged Illinoisans secure their name on the ballot for races in the Illinois House and Senate.

Our team seeks civic minded, qualified, and capable candidates who share our free-market ideas to be candidates in one of the many districts that have been deprived of competition over the past 10 years or more. We're interested in hearing from you even if you have never run for or held public office in the past.

If you or someone you know is interested in honest service in elective office, please fill out our short survey below and let's discuss the possibility of you running for public office.

Thank you for the help. It gave me the opportunity to run, and for the first time in 12 years a contested election.

I have greatly appreciated the support received from [Run Illinois]. I could not have come this far without you.
Pat Bonk Candidate, HD 30
I learned a lot. I gained more confidence in talking to people. I learned a lot about the election and campaign process, and most important of all, I had the opportunity to connect with many great people.
Alper Turran Candidate, HD 13
We were given the basic information we needed to put together a campaign; great assistance with signature gathering & filing; exposure to experts & on-going input... Also IPI's policy research library is extremely helpful.
Eddie Kornegay Candidate, HD 7
